Netflix Officially Announced Squid Game Season 2 Is Coming
Yes, you heard right! the second season of the Korean drama thriller Squid Game has announced by Netflix on Sunday via their Twitter handle. Squid Game’s first season was released last year and quickly became the biggest hit show ever on the streaming platform.
Netflix posted the first tweet stating “Red light… GREENLIGHT!”, Squid Game is officially coming back for Season 2!. In the other tweet, Netflix captioned “Hwang Dong-Hyuk writer, director, producer, and creator of @squidgame has a message for the fans:” which reads.
“It took 12 years to bring the first season of Squid Game to life last year. But it took 12 days for ‘Squid Game’ to become the most popular Netflix series ever. As the writer, director, and producer of ‘Squid Game’, a huge shout out to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our show. And now, Gi-hun returns. The Front Man returns. Season 2 is coming. The man in the suit with ddakji might be back. You’ll also be introduced to Young-hee’s boyfriend Cheoul-su.”
After the monumental success of the series, Director, producer, and writer, Hwang during an interview talked about the possible plotline for the second season that he has secured and is also in talks with Netflix for the third season of the show. He later hinted about the story of Squid Game season 2 which would follow the main lead actor Seong Gi Hun finding the purpose of the organization behind the game.
