Who Is Number One in Stranger Things Season 4? Is He Vecna?

The anticipated season of Netflix Stranger Things has finally dropped for which fans had been waiting for almost three years. The fans have high expectations from Stranger Things Season 4 and The Duffer Brothers maintained it. This season has brought many twists and also briefly answered many theories, still many things remain unanswered. We are hoping to see makers will make them clear in Vol 2 of Stranger Things Season 4. [Spoiler Ahead]!!

Eleven / Jan Hopper, played by Millie Bobby Brown, is the main character in the series who saved Hawkins from the demons Demogorgon, The Mind Flayer, and The Spider Monster. In season 4, Hawkins people are scared as an evil wizard named Vecna is killing Hawkins teenagers. Who is Vecna? Is Number One / 001 Vecna? Let’s know more about Number One / 001 and Vecna here.

Who is Vecna?

Eleven gets arrested after attacking her bully Angela. When she is taken to the minor jail, Dr. Owen tries to understand to Eleven that Hawkins is again in terror of an evil demon who gruesomely kills teenagers and we need someone who could save the town one more time.

Now, Eleven doesn’t have superpowers but Dr. Owen promises her she would be more powerful this time if she agrees to come to the lab. They arrive at the lab where she meets with Dr. Brenner who tells her to relive the old memory if she wants her power back.

Dr. Brenner’s team places her inside an isolation tank named Nina where she starts seeing her old memories. Within the memories, she meets Peter Ballard who seems to be Dr. Brenner’s assistant but he just takes care of the lab kids. Peter tells Eleven that she is different from others and Dr. Brenner just wants to control her and also promises Eleven to escape her from this place in her flashback memories which she barely remembers.

Peter shows a tracker (Soteria) which was placed on his neck by Dr. Brenner to control him. Eleven trusts him, she pulls the pill-sized tracker out from his neck by using her powers. She didn’t know that Peter tricked her. Eleven walks through the lab to find that he has killed everyone. After this, She comes to know that Peter tricked her as the pill-sized thing was not a tracker which was something that subdues his powers.

Peter is subject number one who has the 001 tattoo on his wrist as well which he shows to Eleven. She fights and defeats him, and that opens a gate to the Upside Down in the Rainbow Room. Number One is sent into a different dimension and gets burnt by the powerful lighting over there which turns him into Vecna.

Who is Number / 001

Henry Creel, the son of Victor and Creel, is Number / 001. In 1959, the Creel family was horribly killed in their home. While investigating, police find that Victor Creel killed her wife, son, and daughter. They have sent him to Pennhurst asylum where has been locked up since then.

But who actually killed the family? It was Henry Creel who killed his mother and sister. Virginia, the mother of Henry Creel, was killed in the same ways as Vecna would kill Hawkins people in the future. It was her mother Virginia who knew there is something wrong with her son and asked for help from Dr. Brenner.

This is how Henry became Number One and Dr. Brenner always knew how powerful Henry is. It is very difficult to control him which is why he placed a device named Soteria in his neck which subdues his power.

In shorts, Henry is Number /001 and Vecna. In the last episode, Nancy was seen caught up in the Vecna’s mind. Will she be able to escape from his mind? Stranger Things Season 4 Vol 2 is set to release on July 1, 2022.
