What To Watch This Week

The Killer
Oscar-nominated filmmaker David Fincher’s film, The Killer, has finally been released on Netflix. The movie premiered at the 80th Venice International Film Festival on September 3, 2023, and had a limited theatrical release.
As per Netflix, the official synopsis reads “After a fateful near miss, an assassin battles his employers, and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn’t personal.”
The Killer features Michael Fassbender in the lead role alongside Arliss Howard, Charles Parnell, Kerry O’Malley, Sala Baker, Sophie Charlotte, and Tilda Swinton in the supporting roles.
Pain Hustlers
Emily Blunt and Chris Evans starring Pain Hustler could be on the watch list. Here’s a reminder that the film has been released but opened with mixed reviews maybe because the film is narrated like a documentary.
Liza Drake (Emily Blunt), a woman who is bankrupt and living with her daughter and mother, received a job opportunity from Pete Brenner (Chris Evans), a sales manager for a pharmaceutical company that is experiencing losses. Liza accepts the job offer and starts working very hard which leads her to achieve success in the company’s sales. She now has everything for which she dreams but she soon discovers that something is wrong there. So she decided to take a stand and fight back.
David Yates directed the film while the screenplay was written by Wells Tower. It was produced by Grey Matter Productions and Wychwood Pictures.
Five Nights at Freddy’s
Are you a horror movie fan? if yes, then this would be the right choice for you. Based on a video game of the same name, Five Nights at Freddy’s is simultaneously premiering in theatres and on Peacock streaming provider.
The story revolves around a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.
Emma Tammi directed the film and also co-wrote the screenplay along with Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback. It is produced by Scott Cawthon and Jason Blum under their production company Scott Cawthon Productions and Blumhouse Productions. The film stars Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Matthew Lillard, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Piper Rubio.
The Gilded Age
HBO’s historical drama The Gilded Age became fans’ favorite in no time. The second season of the show is currently streaming and received positive reviews just like the season one.
The TV series follows “A wide-eyed young scion of a conservative family embarks on a mission to infiltrate the wealthy neighboring clan dominated by ruthless railroad tycoon George Russell, his rakish son, Larry, and his ambitious wife, Bertha.”
The Gilded Age is created and written by Julian Fellowes. It is produced by Neamo Film and Television, Universal Television, and HBO Entertainment.
