Early Life & Education – Pankow was born on August 12, 1998, in Ketchikan, Alaska, United States. His father is of German descent and his mother is of Danish and Ashkenazi Jewish descent. He went to Ketchikan High School where he was quite active in sports. Later, he found his interest in acting which led him to join some acting classes in order to become an actor.
Career – Before making his on-screen debut, he performed in several stages and plays which helped him to learn the nuances of acting. He then made his web show debut in the 2017 horror drama web series titled Sunny Family Cult based on the short film of the same name. It was about a teenage girl who strives for a normal life while juggling her not-so-normal serial-killing cult family.

In 2022, Pankow made his feature film debut by playing the role of Samuel “Sam” Drake alongside Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. Also that same year, he played Joey Kite in Space Waves.
His career breakthrough role came in 2020 when he starred in the main lead role as JJ Maybank in the Netflix action adventure Outer Banks.
