Early Life – Ramirez was born on November 8, 1979, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Her father’s name is Daniel Ramirez whereas her mother’s name is Agueda Camacho. Her parents immigrated to America when she was around six months old. Although, the actress lived with her grandfather till she turned 10 years old.

Upon turning 10, she moved to America for living with her parents. She found her interest in acting at an early age. As a kid, she would have played the characters from the television series in front of her family members.

Career – Her modeling career kicked off after being discovered by an agent at a convenience store. Thereafter, she was chosen to appear in a soda commercial which led her to think about pursuing a career in acting. Subsequently, she moved to New York City and joined the “Actor’s Workshop” to study acting under Flo Greenberg.

She began her acting career by starring in HBO’s television film Subway Stories in 1997. A year later, she was featured in a music video called “Street Is Watching”. Furthermore, she was selected to appear in another music video named “Cheapskate” by Sporty Thievz.

In 2002, she made her professional debut by appearing in the drama film titled 25th Hour, adapted from the novel of the same name. She played a small role in the film as Daphne along with Edward Norton, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Barry Pepper, and Rosario Dawson. In the next year, she made her debut on television as well, playing Caridad in the supernatural drama Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
