From the low-budget ‘Following’ to the blockbuster of 2023 ‘Oppenheimer’, Christopher Nolan has produced some masterpieces for the big screen.
The last piece of work by Nolan is a biopic of J. Robert Oppenheimer who’s also known as the father of Atomic Bomb. The interesting real-life of Oppenheimer coupled with Nolan’s sublime storytelling has made the movie a Box Office hit. The said movie did around a whopping 1$ Billion at the Box Office.
Christopher Nolan’s first hefty-budgeted movie was ‘Following’ in 1998 and since then there’s no stopping the filmmaker. He has made some of the most loved movies in the history of Hollywood. Batman’s trilogy, Interstellar, and Tenet among others are some of his best work. If you want to catch on the action in high-definition, Spectrum is your best bet here. From the movies to the sports channels, it covers almost all of the most wanted stuff. Not just that, you can high-res stream them on the go with Spectrum TV App.
Anyways, Christopher has made fans around the globe who are anticipating his next work. Even though it’s not yet confirmed, we have some rational guesses for Christopher Nolan’s next movie. Let’s have a look.
James Bond by Christopher Nolan
“I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out. You’d have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you,” Christopher told BBC Radio 4 in 2018 for the reinvention of the James Bond.
Just imagine a James Bond movie that is directed by the one. It’s going to be one hell of a fun. The director is keen on taking the movie provided the franchise call for it. He wants the reinvention of the movie and add his own touch to the movie.
We are unaware yet but the filmmaker, in an interview, said these are just the rumors and he doesn’t yet have any plans for the reinvention of the movie. Is he trying to bluff? Only time will tell.
The Prisoner
The Prisoner was actually a TV series first aired in 1967. The story revolves around a British intelligence who’s taken to a queer village. Nobody really can escape it and if someone does it, they are usually recaptured or shot dead. A failed attempt was already made for a remake in 2009 but it wasn’t really welcomed.
The story fascinates Nolan and he wants to make a new version of it. IGN reports that Nolan said in 2009: “The Prisoner is something I’ve been interested in for quite a long time, and I think I’ve figured out the take on how we’d approach it,”
He added: “The relevance of it today. David and Janet Peoples are terrific, who you know wrote Blade Runner and Twelve Monkeys… all kinds of great movies. They’re working on the script right now. I wouldn’t want to speak for them. I’m very excited to see what they’ve come up with.”
In a podcast, the director confirmed that he hasn’t yet figured out the way to approach it but he’s certainly up to it and we might see The Prisoner by Nolan.
Howard Hughes Biopic
Nolan was ready to go all out for the Howard Hughes biopic but it was Martin Scorsese’s addition of the character in his ‘The Aviator’ that made him hold his horses. The character was played by Leonardo Di Caprio.
He wanted Jim Carrey to star in his take on the movie but he dropped the idea for the time being. He went on to write the script and when interviewed by The Daily Beast for Martin Scorsese’s movie he said: “I was definitely like, ‘F**k!’
He added: “I think it’s the best script I’ve ever written, and I had a really wonderful experience writing it. Yeah, it was a frustrating experience that the other movie got going. Will I revisit it? I have no idea. I really don’t think about what I’m going to do next until I’m completely finished, and for the next couple of weeks, I’m still all about Interstellar. I wouldn’t necessarily rule it out, but I wrote it a long time ago.”
His reaction holds the elements of indication that he still is fonder of the movie and might revisit it.
Tenet 2
The filmmaker has been stressing in his interviews that he wants to release an original. What can be better than a sequel to Tenet 2?
Since Tenet opened up a whole new lot of possibilities following the end of the movie, we might see the next part. While the director hasn’t said a thing about making Tenet 2, if we follow him around then it can pop right up in his head.
Tenet had troubles at the time of COVID when Nolan and the WB Studios had conflicts on how should the movie be released leading to the end of the partnership.
WB Studios was termed as home by Nolan and the studios will try to bring the filmmaker back, especially after the success of Oppenheimer. And we might see Tenet 2 from the Warner Bros Studios.
