Who is Carrie Coon? – Carrie Coon is a famous American film, television and stage actress who has been performing in the entertainment industry for over a decade and has been starred in a number of films and TV shows. Early Life & Education- Coon was born on January 24, 1981, in Copley, Ohio to Paula (née Ploenes) and John Coon. She has four siblings, an older sister, an older brother, and two younger brothers. She went to Copley High School in Copley Township where graduated in 1999. Later, she attended the prestigious University of Mount Union where she earned a degree in B.A. with English and Spanish in 2003. Moreover, she also holds an M.F.A. degree in acting from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Career – Having completed her graduation, she began performing at Madison Repertory Theatre where she marked her professional stage debut by essaying Emily in a production of Our Town. That same year, she performed in several stage production including Romeo and Juliet, The Matchmaker, and Measure for Measure.

Before making her film and TV debut, she starred in a couple of stage productions. In 2011, she commenced her professional acting career after playing the role of Doris Hall in an episode of the historical crime drama “The Playboy Club” titled “An Act of Simple Duplicity”. In the next year, Coon starred as Bix in a short film titled One in a Million.

She then went on to make an episode appearance in TV shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Ironside, and Intelligence. In 2014, she was cast to play one of the main roles as Nora Durst in the HBO drama series The Leftovers which also stars Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, and Ann Dowd. She was appreciated by the critics and audience for her portrayal. Later that same year, she marked her film debut as well by playing a supporting role Margo Dunne in the psychological thriller Gone Girl.
