Carol and Neil’s Early Life
Carol was born in 1945 to Victor and Rosario Cota Held. In 1989, She initially married Ralph Knight, who was an owner of a construction company located in Cincinnati. She and Ralph had two children named Molly and Andrew. Both kids were quite young when Ralph died.
Whereas Neil Armstrong was initially married to Janet Elizabeth Shearon with whom, he had three children name Alan (b. June 30, 1957), Karen Anne, born in 1959 but unfortunately died in 1968 due to a brain tumor, Mark Stephen. Their marriage lasted for 38 years but sadly ended in 1994.
Carol and Neil’s First Meeting
Carol and Neil met first time at a golf tournament in 1992. However, It was a pre-planned meeting set up by their mutual friends named Paul and Sally Christiansen. They later became the legal witnesses of their wedding. However, Carol was quite nervous and also overwhelmed with having the famous astronaut sit next to her. Neil was still married to Janet at that time.
Carol Held Knight and Neil Armstrong Tied A Knot
Since then, they started meeting and dated for almost two years before getting married. However, the couple got married on June 12, 1994. They had two wedding ceremonies. The first ceremony of Neil and Carol was held at a small venue in Ohio, it was a place where is Carol originally from.
After a few days, their second ceremony was held at the San Ysidro Ranch in California. It was a grand ceremony. They lived there for several years but later relocated to Indian Hill, Ohio. They didn’t have any children.
What did Neil Armstrong die of
Neil died on August 25, 2012, at that time, he was 82 years old. He succumbed to complications from heart surgery he had undergone a few days before. Carol still lives in Indian Hill where she used to live with Neil.
