Angus MacLane’s Lightyear will be the spin-off of the Toy Story film series which means we have not been seeing Woody and Toy Buzz Lightyear in the flick but they might have special or guest appearances. Its story will be completely different from the previous Toy Story films franchise.

As per Wikipedia, Lightyear revolves around the fictional origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the character who inspired the action figure in the Toy Story films.

The screenplay is penned by Pete Docter who is known for directing Pixar animated feature films Monsters, Inc. (2001), Up (2009), Inside Out (2015), and Soul (2020). It will be produced by Galyn Susman under the banners of Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Chris Evans will be voicing the lead character Buzz Lightyear along with Keke Palmer as Izzy, Dale Soules as Steel, Taika Waititi as Morrison, Peter Sohn as Sox, and Uzo Aduba as Hawthorn.
