Early Life & Education – She was born on April 8, 1977, in Veracruz, Mexico, to Augusto Gardoqui and Nena de la Reguera. Her mother was a former beauty pageant contestant who later became a journalist and TV personality. She has a sister named Alicia de la Reguera.

The actress attended Instituto Veracruzano de la Cultura where she studied classic ballet and performance arts and also went to Monroe Woodbury High School in New York.

Career – Reguera persuaded her parents to pursue a career in acting. As her mother was from the entertainment industry so it was not much difficult for her. However, her parents always supported and encouraged her to pursue her dream.

It was 1996 year when she made her professional acting debut on television in the family drama Azul where she played the role of Cecilia. She then landed a supporting role in the TV series Pueblo chico, infierno grande.

In 2000, she made her film debut in the Mexican drama Por la libre where she had a major appearance as Maria, illegitimate daughter of Carnicero and the love interest of Rocco. Her career’s breakthrough role came in 2003 when she was selected to play the role of Ana in the romantic-comedy film Ladies’ Night. Her performance was appreciated and even won an MTV Award for “Favorite Actress’.
