Tim Allen Is Set To Star In Disney+ Limited Series Santa Clause
After 16 years, Santa Clause is finally happening!. Indeed a great news for many who would have watched The Santa Clause Franchise. They will be definitely very excited after learning Disney+ has just announced a limited series in the continuity of The Santa Clause.
Tim Allen is returning as your favorite childhood star Scott Calvin / Santa Clause and has again been ready to make you laugh with his funny humor. He has already starred in the previous Santa Clause films where critics and the audience appreciated his performance. Who will be sharing the screen with him is yet to be unveiled.
On Friday, Disney+ took to Twitter and tweeted “It’s clause for celebration! 🎅🏻 Tim Allen will reprise his role as Scott Calvin from “The Santa Clause” in a new Original limited series coming soon to #DisneyPlus.”
The first film, The Santa Clause was released in November 1994, with two sequels, The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause were released in November 2002 and November 2006 respectively. The films received mixed-to positive reviews and grossed over $470.1 million.
This time, the successful film franchise is making a major comeback in the form of a limited series for small screen viewers.
The series will revolve around Scott who has turned 65 and realized that he can’t be Santa forever. He begins searching for a suitable Santa replacement, while he just now wants to spend time with his family, especially his two kids raised in the North Pole.
The official plot hints about the series – “In Disney Branded Television’s The Santa Clause series, produced by 20th Television, Scott Calvin (Allen) is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realizing that he can’t be Santa forever.“
No release date has been set at the time of writing, nor have any other cast members been announced.
Besides playing Scott Calvin, Tim Allen is also known for his roles in Home Improvement (1991-1999), Last Man (2011-2021), and for providing his voice to Buzz Lightyear in the widely famous Toy Story Franchise.
