Some movies or web shows perform well and become successful in no time but in the Netflix Tall Girl case, things were odd and it failed to impress the critics and audience. The film was eventually panned by the viewers. Despite all negative reviews, Tall Girl managed to achieve 41 million views on the platform in the first four weeks due to which, its sequel is in the way. Back in October 2019, Ava Michelle, who played Jodi, stated to EliteDaily that its sequel is in talk and also hinted she would be returning to the final year of school, “I’m excited to see hopefully Jodi’s senior year and to see what happens there, but I really don’t know. There’s talk, but I really don’t know, we’ll see.”
Netflix has officially confirmed that the movie has been renewed for the sequel which is indeed great news for those who loves to watch high school romantic drama sort of films. Viewers are having high expectations from the sequel as the first part of Tall Girl couldn’t able to impress the audience.

You will have to wait a bit longer to catch the glimpse or trailer of Tall Girl 2. As of now, the filmmakers haven’t revealed anything except the confirmation about the sequel which is currently in the development phase.
Tall Girl 2 Release Date
Sam Wolfson wrote the screenplay of Tall Girl. Netflix again selected him to write the sequel as well on December 1, 2020.
On April 12, 2021, Ava posted a video of herself with Tall Girl’s cast on her Instagram handle regarding the major update about the film. She stated “SOOOO excited to finally announce that we are currently in production for TALL GIRL 2 !!!!!!! so incredibly grateful❤️ let’s do this thaaangg @netflix @netflixfilm @netflixfamily”.
Since then, No updates have been made publicly about the film. Of course, the release date is being delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. If sources are to be believed, Tall Girl 2 is likely to be released on February 11, 2022.
Tall Girl 2 Plot
Jodi Kreymane, played by Ava Michelle, is the tallest girl who struggles to fit herself in the school because of her tall frame. She is also bullied by fellow schoolmates due to which she always keeps complaining about being so tall. But things get changed when a foreign exchange student named Stig Mohlin played by Luke Eisner enrolled in the school.
She falls in love with him at first sight as he seems to be a perfect guy for her. Also, her best friend Jack Dunkleman, played by Griffin Gluck, loves her but she doesn’t see him that way because he is quite younger than her. Eventually, Jodi and Jack discover love feelings for each other in the end.

As per IMDB, the sequel of Tall Girl will revolve around ” what happens after Jodi Kreyman gains popularity and how her miscommunications start causing rifts with those around her and now she really needs to ‘stand tall’.”
