Early Life & Education – She was born on April 4, 1979, in New York City, to Jewish parents named Ivette Buchinger and Aaron Braunstein. Her father was a boxing promoter. Additionally, he drove race cars and also worked as a radio host. She spent the first eight years of her life in Great Neck, New York City. Then, Her family immigrated to Israel where she lived for a year and a half and was involved in some productions which helped her to become interested in performance and arts.
During her stay there, her parents divorced, and she and her brother moved back to America with their mother. She then went to a private Jewish school named Ramaz School located in New York City but was expelled for selling marijuana. After moving to Miami with her mother, she attended Miami Country Day School but didn’t graduate from high school as she left before her senior year to attend a film course at NYU’s ‘Tisch School of the Arts. She then went to New York University for a short time to study film and philosophy.
Career – Lyonne began her career as a model and was signed by the Ford Modeling Agency at an early age. She made her debut as a child actress in the 1986 American television series Pee-wee’s Playhouse. In the very same year, she made her film debut as well by portraying Rachel’s niece in the comedy-drama Heartburn. Her other appearance in films like April Fool, A Man Called Sarge, Dennis the Menace, Everyone Says I Love You, Slums of Beverly Hills, Krippendorf’s Tribe, and Modern Vampires.
She became famous among the youngster after playing Jessica in Paul Weitz’s American Pie, and also reprised her role in two of its sequels.
