Early Life & Education – He was born on November 19, 1983, in San Diego, California, United States. Adam is the son of Joe Douglas Driver and Nancy Wright (née Needham). His parents separated when he was a kid. After then, Adam moved to his mother’s hometown in Mishawaka along with his mother and older sister.
Adam attended Mishawaka High School and graduated in 2001. He then started selling Kirby vacuum cleaners door-to-door and also worked as a telemarketer for a baseman waterproofing company and Ben Franklin Construction for a few months. Meanwhile, Adam became interested in acting and applied for Drama at the prestigious Julliard School, but his application was not accepted.
After being rejected from the best acting school, Adam was worried and started looking for other best colleges. During that time, the 9/11 terrorist attack took place which led him to join the United States Marine Corps. He served the nation for almost three years and had to be medically discharged after meeting an accident while mountain biking.
Acting Career – Adam then went to the University of Indianapolis for a year and again applied for Julliard, but he was accepted this time. After graduating from Julliard in 2009, he auditioned for TV shows and films. His first television acting role was in the 2009 American crime show The Unusuals. He played Will Slansky in an episode titled The E.I.D. in the series. The following year, he appeared in Law & Order and You Don’t Know Jack.
In 2011, Adam made his film debut in the biographical drama J. Edgar, in which he played Walter Lyle while Leonardo DiCaprio played titular character. Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film was based on the career of FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. He rose to fame after playing the role of Hannah Horvath’s boyfriend Adam Sackler in the comedy-drama Girls. His other film roles in Lincoln and Frances Ha earned him huge popularity.
