Early Life & Education – Marano was born on November 29, 1995, in Los Angeles, California, to Damiano and Ellen Marano. Her father is a college professor whereas her mother is a former actress, who now owns a theatre named Agoura Children’s Theatre. Her older sister Vanessa Marano is also an actress and has been starred in Gilmore Girls, Grey’s Anatomy, and The Young and the Restless.

She went to the traditional high school and said her school’s friends and everybody were extremely supportive. After school, she attended the University of Southern California where majored in Philosophy, Politics, and Law.

Career – She expressed an interest in acting after performing in a stage production at the age of five. It was her mother who introduced her to acting. In addition to appearing on stage production, she was cast to feature in a couple of commercials and television roles. Her first television role came in 2003 when she was chosen to play Kate Malone in Hank Steinberg’s Without a Trace. She then had guest appearances in Joan of Arcadia and Medical Investigation.

In 2005, she made her film debut in the psychological thriller/horror The Jacket. She played the younger version of Keira Knightley’s character named Jackie Price in the film. In the next year, she went on to make episode appearances in TV series titled Ghost Whisperer, Huff, and Dexter.

Marano was then seen playing one of the main roles as Gracie Carr in Fox’s sitcom Back to You followed by a recurring role in The Sarah Silverman Program. That same year, she has a small role in the teen comedy film Superdad. Her career’s breakthrough role came in 2011 when she was selected to portray All Dawson on the Disney Channel TV series Austin & Ally. The show made her an overnight star.
