She was born on June 13, 1986, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of a famous poet and speech therapist, Ellen Judith, and Gerald J. Litwach, a molecular pharmacologist, college professor, and chairman. She is the youngest of five children and has a brother named Geoffrey S. Litwack.
She attended Friends’ Central School for only a half-day and subsequently her parents homeschooled her. At the age of 14, she graduated from high school. When she was 10, she started appearing in many commercials. Furthermore, she decided to pursue a career in acting and moved to Los Angeles with her family.
She forayed into the world of acting in 2000 with the role of Jenny Brier in HBO’s television series S#x and the City. The next year, she starred in the main lead role as Sarah Stewart in Raising Dad.
In 2004, she debuted in film with a supporting role as Sloane in Hilary Duff’s musical drama Raise Your Voice. In the following years, she appeared in supporting roles in many films including Down in the Valley, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Big Momma’s House 2, and Charlie Bartlett.
She is best known for her following appearances as Max Black in 2 Broke Girls (2011-17), Thor (2011), and its sequel Thor: The Dark World (2013).
