The next year, she starred in the TV drama film Hope where she essayed the role of Lilly Kate Burns, a young girl who grows up in a small town in the era of the 1960s. For this, she won a nomination for Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film.
Over the course of her acting career, she starred in many films and television series but is best known for Donnie Darko (2001), Life as a House (2001), Hitler: The Rise of Evil (2003), The Neon Demon (2016), and Nocturnal Animals (2016).
