Who Is India Amarteifio? – India Amarteifio is a British film and television actress whose performance in Netflix’s historical drama Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story has been lauded by critics and fans. The spinoff also received overwhelming responses for its amazing costumes and heart-wrenching love story. Early Life & Education – She was born on September 17, 2001, in Kingston upon Thames, England. While information about her parents is yet to be disclosed. She revealed in an interview that her mother is white and her father is black which makes her ethnicity mixed. Also, it is not known whether she has any siblings because she hasn’t spoken anything about her brothers and sisters in the media. Amarteifio was very young when she discovered her talent for acting and decided to pursue a career in it. In 2012, she started learning dance at Richmond Academy of Dance and later joined Sylvia Young Theatre School.

Career – She started performing on stage in her early career which helped her to learn the nuances of acting. She appeared in a Richmond Theatre production titled Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This was followed by her appearance as Young Nala in the West End theatre production The Lion King, Hortensia in the Cambridge Theatre production Matilda the Musical, and Violet Beauregarde in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

In 2013, she forayed into the world of entertainment after landing the small role of Florence in the British comedy-drama TV film Gangsta Granny. Around two years later, she starred as Hannah / Chloe on the BBC One miniseries The Interceptor which was about a new law enforcement team tasked with hunting down some of Britain’s most wanted criminals. The series was cancelled after season one. Shen then featured in an episode of the series Doctor Who and Hank Zipzer.

Her first breakout role came in 2015 when she was cast to play the main role of Lacie Fairburn on Disney’s family adventure The Evermoor Chronicles. Her next appearance was as Ella in three episodes of Fungus the Bogeyman. Amarteifio was then seen playing Sophie Huntley on BBC One Line of Duty (Season 4) which started airing on 26 March 2017. This appearance was followed by her role as Maya Roebuck in season 3 of the British-French crime drama The Tunnel.

She had a role in the English drama “Unforgotten”. In 2019, she made her Netflix debut after appearing as Lizzie Peach in an episode of the British comedy-drama S#x Education. Amarteifio commenced her film career as well by playing the supporting role of Frankie in Peter Cattaneo’s Military Wives. She then secured another supporting role in The Midwich Cuckoos which was followed by her leading role in Netflix Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
