Early Life & Education – Corbin Michon Reid was born on February 3, 1988, in Hennepin, Minnesota, USA. Her mother Judith A Mckenzie has always been a family’s strong pillar whereas information about her father remains undisclosed. Reid told that her mother has always supported and guided her while pursuing acting. Information about her education is still under wraps, but the actress is believed to be well-educated. She possibly started acting during her school days and developed a strong interest in it after graduating from school. Reid attended the prestigious University of Michigan where she received a BFA in theater.
Career – After college, she immediately moved to NYC where she started performing on Broadways including American Idiot, Sister Act and Rent. She made her professional acting debut after appearing in the pilot Words with Girls. Directed by Tessa Blake and written by Brittani Nichols, she played Mickey alongside Alex Sturman, Hayley Huntley, and Brittany Renee.
She then was seen playing Jade in Season One’s pilot ‘Los Feliz, 90027’ which is about a group of people who wants to do something big and better in their lives but their personal issues never get end. Reid then had a role in the 2015 short comedy film Tall Justice 2 with Chris Bosh. Her next role came in the comedy series Not So Union in which she played Nicki in episode 5 of Season One.
She debuted as a voice artist after providing her voice in the 2015 animated TV series titled Disney Star Darlings. In 2016, she got her career’s breakthrough role in the horror mystery film Blair Witch which also marked her debut film. She played the main role in the film alongside James Allen McCune, Callie Hernandez, and Brandon Scott. Her natural performance received fans’ appreciation. After that, she was offered numerous acting projects which earned her fame and recognition in the industry.
She was then cast in the crime drama TV series How to Get Away with Murder. Reid played Meggy Travers in just 13 episodes out of 90 but her performance was appreciated by critics. She next secured another lead role in the military drama Valor which was cancelled after season one. Her other film appearances include Samir (2019) and My Fiona (2021).
She has been cast in a variety of roles throughout her acting career but her best-known performance is considered in Starz’s comedy TV series titled Run the World. She essayed the role of Sondi Hill, a doctoral student and Matthew’s girlfriend. Its season two is all set to premiere on May 26, 2023.
