O’Connell was born on December 18, 2001, in Los Angeles, California, US. Her mother, Maggie Baird who works as a teacher, actress, and screenwriter, and Patrick O’Connell, who works as a construction worker and part-time actor.
She grew up by seeing her brother, Finneas O’Connell, who is also a musician, and decided to pursue a career as a musician. She was homeschooled for a year around so that she could learn music’s basic.
At 8, she joined the choir and started sand with them for around three years, and later on, she started writing and composing her own songs. In addition to singing and writing, she also made several short films which she shot with her phone and later edited with Apple’s video editing app named iMovie.
