Early Life & Education – Adria Arjona Torres was born on April 25, 1992, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Ricardo Arjona and Leslie Torres. Her father is a renowned singer-songwriter from Guatemala and her mother is a homemaker. Because of her father’s concerts and tours, she had to often travel along with him. She lived in Mexico City until she was twelve, then moved to Miami and lived there until she was eighteen, and finally moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting.
She attended the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute where Adria took a three-month acting course. Meanwhile, She also worked as a waitress and a hostess while studying to support financially herself.
Career – Adria started off her acting career after landing in the 2012 short film titled Loss. In 2014, she commenced her television career as well, by making an episode appearance in the American crime drama series Unforgettable. She played the role of Suzy Houchen in the episode titled “Cashing Out”. That same year, she went on to appear in the science fiction television series Person of Interest. Adria was seen in just two episodes of the show as Dani Silva.
In 2015, she played Helena on the Netflix crime drama series Narcos, followed by her role as Emily in season two of the anthology television series True Detective. Having starred in a couple of TV series, she moved towards film work as well and marked her debut in the 2016 American horror film The Belko Experiment. Directed by Greg McLean, the film was about eighty Americans working abroad for a company Belko Industries where they are trapped inside the building and have to kill each other after the announcement made by a mysterious voice. She played the role of Leandra Florez, Norris’ assistant and Mike’s love interest.
Adria Arjona then was cast in the main role of Dorothy Gale in NBC’s fantasy drama Emerald City. The series was canceled after one season. In 2018, she appeared as Jules Reyes in Pacific Rim: Uprising and Amanda in Life of the Party. Her other films roles include Triple Frontier (2019), 6 Underground (2019), Sweet Girl (2021), Morbius (2022), and Father of the Bride (2022).
Her most recent appearance was in the Disney+ science fiction series Andor in which she played the role of Bix Caleen alongside Diego Luna and Kyle Soller. The series serves as the prequel to the Star Wars spin-off film Rogue One.
