Who is Kristin Kreuk – Kristin Kreuk is a famous Canadian film and television actress who is best known for her starring role as Lana Lang in the superhero TV series Smallville (2001-2011), Catherine Chandler in Beauty & the Beast (2012-2016), and Joanna Hanley in Burden of Truth (2018-2021). Additionally, she is also known for providing her voice in the video games like Shuyan Saga (2017) and Watch Dogs: Legion (2020). Apart from her acting credits, she has produced two projects titled Blink and Phoolan.

Early Life & Education – Kreuk was born on December 30, 1982, in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Deanna Che and Peter Kreuk. They both are landscape architects by profession. She has a younger sister Justin Kreuk. She attended Eric Hamber High School. After that, she wanted to study forensic science or psychology at Simon Fraser University but after getting an opportunity in acting, she canceled her plans.

Career – In 2001, she commenced her television career after portraying the titular character in the television film Snow White: The Fairest of Them All. That same year, she voiced for Gina in an episode of the American animation series The Weekenders titled “My Punky Valentine”.

In the same year, she rose to fame by playing Laurel Yeung in a Canadian television series Edgemont. She was in the lead role in the series and appeared in 70 episodes. The show lasted for five seasons before being canceled. After the success of her first two projects, she auditioned for the WB Network series Smallville and was selected for the character “Lana Lang”. After appearing in the first seven seasons of the show, she left the series in 2008.

She then was cast in a starring role in the Sci-Fi Channel miniseries Earthsea as Tenar. In 2010, she obtained a recurring role in the NBC series Chuck as Hannah. By then, she had appeared in several films including EuroTrop, Partition, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, Vampire, and Irvine Welsh’s Ecstasy.

Sometime in 2010, she and her co-actress Rosena Bhura from the film Partition started a production company named Parvati Creative Inc, which aims to produce films as seen through a female lens. Parvati’s first production was a short film Blink directed by Rick Rosenthal and the second production was a comedy series, Queenie which starred Olivia Cheng (Kreuk’s friend).
