Michael Stuhlbarg will reprise his role as Nicodemus West, a rival surgeon to Strange, from the first film.

A squid (possibly named Shuma-Gorath) was seen in the teaser throwing the bus with its tentacles could be one of the main villains.

Scott Derrickson was chosen to direct Doctor Strange 2 but he stepped down citing creative differences in January 2020. Later, Sam Raimi onboarded as director.
