Breeds was born on 17 June 1987 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She received her primary education from the Sutherland Shire Christian School and the St. Andrew’s Cathedral School where she was the Drama Captain.
After school, she went to the prestigious University of New South Wales where she enrolled in music and performing arts for six months but eventually, she had to defer her studies for a film role.
In 2000, she forayed into the world of entertainment with a television series titled “Water Rats” where she starred in an episode named “Jump in the Mouth”. Between 2006 to 2008, she starred as Tina/ Cassie Cometti in the Australian drama series Blue Water High.
In 2008, she began her film career as well in a drama Newcastle where she played the role of Lean Pointin along with Lachlan Buchanan, Xavier Samuel, Reshad Strik, and Shane Jacobson.
Some of her best-known performances are Ruby Buckton in Home and Away (2008-12), Abby Russo in We Are Men (2013), Nicole Gordon in Pretty Little Liars (2015-17), and Clarice Starling in Clarice (2021-Present).
