Early Life & Education – Olivia Kate Cooke was born on December 27, 1993, in Oldham, Greater Manchester, to Lindsay Wilde and John Cooke. Her mother worked as a sales representative while her father is a retired police officer. Olivia’s parents divorced when she was a child. She and her younger sister ‘Eleanor Cooke’ then lived with their mother.

In 2013, she got her major breakthrough role in an American psychological horror drama titled Bates Motel which was the contemporary prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 film Psycho.

She was then cast as Laine Morris in the horror film Ouija which was released in the same year.

She next played Rachel Kushner in the comedy-drama Me and Earl and the Dying Girl which was based on Andrew’s novel of the same name. In 2016, she starred as Elizabeth “Lizzie” Cree and Katie in The Limehouse and Katie Says Goodbye respectively. In the 2017 black comedy film Thoroughbreds, Olivia played Amanda alongside Anya Taylor-Joy, Anton Yelchin, Paul Sparks, and Francie Swift.

She was cast as Samantha Cooke/Art3mis in Steven Spielberg’s science fiction adventure Ready Player One which was released in 2018. In the same year, she essayed the character of Dylan Dempsey in Dan Fogelman’s Life Itself alongside Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, and Samuel L. Jackson. She then appeared in the main role as Becky Sharp in the ITV production of Vanity Fair that same year.

Her other film performances include Louise “Lou” Berger in Sound of Metal (2019), Pixie O’Brien in Pixie (2020), Emma Ryerson in Little Fish (2021), and Leah in Naked Singularity. She is also known for her television work including Carla in Amazon Prime Video’s Modern Love and Sidonie “Sid” Baker in Apple TV+’s Slow Horses.
