Early Life – Kurylenko was born on 14 November 1979 in Berdyansk, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union. She is the only child of Konstantin and Marina Alyabusheva. She was raised by her mother only as her parents separated when she was a toddler.
Career – As a teenager, she worked on several modelling assignments after being discovered by an agency. By the time, she decided to pursue a full-time career as a model and moved to Paris where she was signed by the Paris-based Madison. Over the course of her modelling career, she had featured on several magazines’ covers including Vogue, Elle, Madame Figaro, and Marie Claire.
After accumulating success as a model, she decided to pursue a career in acting and made her television debut in 2001 in the action drama Largo Winch where played the role of Carole in an episode “Contessa Vanessa”. In 2005, she marked her film debut as well, by portraying Iris in the French drama L’Annulaire.
Her first major breakthrough role came in 2007 when she was chosen to play the role of Nika Boronina in an action-thriller film Hitman. Moreover, she gained mainstream prominence for playing the Bond girl Camille Montes in the 22nd James Bond film titled Quantum of Solace in 2008.
Apart from being a Bond girl, she is also known for her performances in the following films To the Wonder (2012), Seven Psychopaths (2012), Oblivion (2013), Momentum (2015), The Death of Stalin (2017), Johnny English Strikes Again (2018), The Room (2019), and Black Widow (2021).
