Almost two weeks back, Thor fame actor Chris Hemsworth published a high-intensity workout video of himself on his Instagram handle where he confirmed the Netflix Extraction sequel is on the way and captioned “Gearing up for @netflix Extraction sequel. Transitioning from heavy weight training to a lot more body weight functional movements concentrating on agility, strength and speed. Give this little work out a go and let the lungs scream for mercy! @centrfit 💪🤙”
Netflix global event called Tudum was held on 9/25/2021 and announced 70 forthcoming web shows and films. Australian actor Chris Hemsworth also joined the event along with Extraction team and unveiled the short glimpse of the much-awaited sequel. Well, find out what we know so far about Extraction 2.
Extraction 2 Star Cast
Tyler Rake Lives! has been confirmed in Netflix’s Tudum event which means Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role. Golshifteh Farahani is likely to return in the film who had played Nik Khan, a mercenary and partner of Tyler.
Along with them, many new fresh faces can be seen introducing in the film. Though, Extraction 2 complete star cast is yet to be revealed.
- Chris Hemsworth will be seen reprising his role as Tyler Rake, a former SASR operator turned black ops mercenary.
- Golshifteh Farahani will be playing Nik Khan, a mercenary and partner of Tyler Rake.
- Randeep Hooda might join the starcast if the story continues where it got ended up. He will be seen playing as Saju Rav, a former Para (Special Forces) Major and Head of Security of Ovi Mahajan Sr.
- Pankaj Tripathi might be seen reprising Ovi Mahajan Sr., the incarcerated Indian crime lord, and father of Ovi.
Extraction 2 Trailer
During Netflix’s Tudum event, the teaser of Extraction 2 has been unveiled. Well, the teaser is just 1.51 minutes long and it is believed to be just an announcement teaser because nothing was new except seeing Tyler is alive. It opens with a bridge scene where Tyler was shot by the Farhad and fall into the river seeing Ovi is safe.
In the very next sequence, Tyler is seeing alive after catching Ovi’s voice “Tyler, you drown not by falling into the river but by staying submerged in it“.
Extraction 2 Release Date
The Australian actor starer Extraction was premiered on April 24, 2020, which received mixed reviews but was appreciated for performances and action sequences. Although the film was criticized for showing excessive violence, it successfully garnered 99 million viewership in just the first four weeks of its release.
Well, it was just an announcement teaser so makers haven’t revealed the release date but it is likely to be premiered in the first quarter of 2022. Though, official confirmation is awaited.
Extraction 2 Plot
As per wegotthiscovered.com, The plot of Extraction 2 will be much bigger and better. This time around, Chris Hemsworth as Tyler Rake will infiltrate a prison facility to rescue a Georgian gangster’s wife and son, before he takes them to Australia for safety reasons.
Sam Hargrave who helmed the Extraction will be directing the sequel as well confirmed back in May 2020. Its story will be penned by Joe Russo along with Ande Parks and Anthony Russo.
