Another Surprise! during the D23 Expo, Marvel’s president Kevin Feige took the stage to share an announcement about the most anticipated movie Fantastic Four. It’s confirmed, The film will be directed by Matt Shakman who is best known for helming Marvel’s Disney+ series Wandavision which received appreciations from both critics and fans.
Jon Watts, who has previously directed Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, was set to direct but stepped away from the much-awaited project in April 2022. “Making three Spider-Man films was an incredible and life-changing experience for me. I’m eternally grateful to have been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for seven years” – the director said in a statement.
The Studio hasn’t revealed the casting and plot information which left the fans disappointed. Though, Kevin Feige clarified to wait until the next D23 Expo for more updates about the movie which means fans must have to wait a little longer for further information.
Fantastic Four will begin Phase 6 of Marvel’s storytelling and it won’t be an origin story because mostly already know its origin story. Kevin Feige stated “A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before?, We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen”.
