Early Life & Education – He was born on August 10, 1989, in Queensland, to Australian parents named Fion and Peter Thwaites. He has a sister named Stacey. He attended Cairns State High School located near the centre of Cairns, Queensland, Australia and graduated in 2006. Brenton later went to the prestigious Queensland University of Technology to study acting for almost three years, and finally graduated in 2010.

Career – During high school, he was keenly interested to become a policeman or a firefighter instead of pursuing a career in acting. When he was in University, he participated in a stage rendition of Romeo & Juliet and his outstanding performance made the audience astonished which eventually discovered his passion for acting.

Like many other actors, he commenced his acting journey with guest appearances in TV shows and low-budget independent films. In 2010, he made his first film appearance as Sam in an independent drama-thriller Charge Over You alongside Danya Cox, and Dominic Deutscher. In the next year, he marked his TV appearance as well, by portraying Leigh Scarpia in the crime drama Sea Patrol.

That same year, he played the role of Luke Gallagher in the teen drama Slide. The series was loved by the audience and made Brenton popular among the Australian youth. Despite the show’s popularity, it didn’t renew for the second season. He next acted as Max Patterson in the short film Headsmen.

Following Slide, he was seen playing a recurring role of Stu Henderson in the 24th season of the soap opera Home and Away. His performance was appreciated by the critics and also helped him to catch the attention of other filmmakers and TV experts. In 2012’s movie Save Your Legs!, Brenton played Mark Cow. In the same year, he appeared as Dean McMullen in the TV film Blue Lagoon: The Awakening.

His career’s breakthrough role came in 2013 when he was cast to play the role of Tim Russell in the supernatural horror film Oculus.
