Early Life – Alana Haim was born on December 15, 1991, in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California, to Jewish parents. She is the daughter of Donna and Mordechai “Moti” Haim. Her father is a former soccer player and drummer whereas her mother is a singer and real estate agent. She has two older sisters named Este Arielle Haim and Danielle Sari Haim. They both are musicians and members of the band Haim.
Education – She received her elementary education from the Millikan Middle School which is a performing arts school located in California. Later, she attended the prestigious L.A County High School for the Arts.
Career – She developed her interest in singing at an early age because her parents were musicians. She and her sisters formed a band back in 2007 under their last name Haim. In 2012, Alana released her first EP titled Forever along with her sisters which received decent response and made the American rapper and singer “Jay-Z” notice them for the first time. They appeared in many music events which later helped them to sign by German-British music label company Polydor Records and Z’s music label Roc Nation.
In the next year, the band “Haim” released their debut album Days Are Gone by Polydor. The album achieved commercial success and made them overnight stars. They were then invited to a sketch comedy television show Saturday Night Live in support of the album.
Almost four years later, they released their second album called Something to Tell You in July 2017 by Columbia Records. This album also was a commercial success and received positive responses from the music critics. Their third album was Women in Music, Pt. III which was released in the year 2020 and earned a nomination for Album of the Year at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
Alana Haim is now heading to make her acting debut as well, will be seen playing the role of Alana Kane in the drama film Licorice Pizza along with Cooper Hoffman, Sean Penn, Tom Waits, Bradley Copper, and Benny Safdie. The film is all set to hit theatres on November 26, 2021.
