Early Life & Education – Sonoya Mizuno was born on July 1, 1986, in Tokyo, Japan. Her father is of Japanese descent whereas her mother is of Argentinian-British descent. Her parents worked as diplomats. She grew up in Somerset, England, along with her five siblings.

The actress was advised by her ballet teacher to audition for the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London. She managed to enroll in the school and spent around 10 years where she studied classical ballet.

Career – After graduating from RBS, she danced for many ballet companies like Semperoper Ballet in Dresden, Ballet Ireland, New English Ballet Theatre, and Scottish Ballet. At 20, she commenced her professional modeling career and modeled for several famous brands including Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Alexander McQueen.
