That time of year has arrived. The Super Bowl LVIII, one of the most anticipated evenings of sports and entertainment in the United States, is approaching in less than three weeks. Although the teams have not yet been determined, the musical lineup has been finalized. Las Vegas will serve as the venue for the occasion, which is certain to be more magnificent than anything previously seen.
Recent reports revealed that Usher is the headline act who’ll perform during the halftime performance. The singer’s name dominates the lineup this year, as a huge name such as his was expected, considering past performances have involved notable artists such as Beyonce, Prince, and Rihanna.
Officially, the NFL has appointed its first DJ to the Super Bowl. This year, TiÍsto is scheduled to deliver a DJ performance before the start of the game, and he will also be present to provide musical accompaniment during intermissions.
Tiësto has been added to a remarkable roster of artists. As mentioned, Usher will perform on the halftime stage, but he is not the only superstar in attendance. Reba McEntire, Post Malone, and Andra Day were also announced as participants.
Super Bowl 2024 National Anthem
Reba McEntire, a renowned country singer, has been chosen to perform the national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” this year. For the 68-year-old performer, this is a moment of completion or closure. Approximately five decades ago, she sang the song “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the 1974 National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City during the early stages of her music career.
The vocalist shared an image on X (formerly referred to as Twitter) showcasing her live performance at the Rodeo, accompanied by a Super Bowl poster, to commemorate her accomplishment. She conveyed her appreciation for the chance to perform in a separate post:
“It is a tremendous privilege to be a part of something as historic and monumental as the Super Bowl’s inaugural visit to Las Vegas.”
Post Malone at the Super Bowl 2024
Post Malone is a highly successful musician, selling over 80 million recordings. Ten Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, one MTV Video Music Award, and nine Grammy Award nominations are among his numerous honors.
The artist who topped the charts is primarily recognized for his genre-defying singles “Better Now,” “Sunflower (featuring Swae Lee),” and “Psycho” (featuring Ty. Dolla $ign). Malone is expected to perform “America The Beautiful” at the Super Bowl 2024, and with any luck, he will infuse the traditional patriotic song with an element of the New Age.
A World Class Producer at SB LVIII
“Lift Every Voice and Sing” and “The Star-Spangled Banner” were rumored to be produced by Adam Blackstone during the 2024 Super Bowl; who has previously collaborated with the likes of Justin Timberlake and Nicki Minaj – so you already know he’s perfect for this year’s SB spectacle. Does this imply that modern renditions of those anthems will be performed? Potentially so! However, we’ll have to wait and see what transpires – exciting times!
Expect Andra Day
It was decided to feature the singer-songwriter Andra Day on “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” She announced the performance on Instagram, writing:
“Love and Blessings! “Performing the Anthem” at the upcoming Super Bowl. Appreciate it! Thanks to God!”
The Super Bowl 2024 Main Event: Usher
Usher will be making his second Super Bowl appearance, having previously shared the stage with the Black Eyed Peas during their 2011 halftime performance.
With great prominence, the Grammy-winning artist will perform as the headlining performer at the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show. The specific songs the singer will serve at the event remain undisclosed; however, Usher is guaranteed to put on an epic show based on his past performances.
Usher announced in a press release:
“It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to eliminate a Super Bowl performance from my priority list. I cannot wait to perform a performance unlike anything the world has ever seen from me before.”
